| Cale Elementary School is a learning community bustling with activity. The first nine weeks exceeded expectation for kickoff to a great school year. From the annual Great Pumpkin Throwing Catapult, to the colorful Hispanic Heritage Night projects, and the day-to-day classroom experiences, all provide students with a way to connect and increase engagement in the learning process. This school year, we now offer clubs that meet once a month during the school day. Students in grades 2-5 had the opportunity to choose from 20 different clubs ranging from baking, chess, coding, 3-D printing, theater, and math challenge. These clubs are designed to reinforce academic instruction and expand student horizons. Our first club session was a huge success, and we look forward to the next one in November. The foundation of what we teach in elementary school revolves around teaching children how to read, to be mathematical thinkers, and communicate thoughts and ideas. The teachers have devoted an incredible amount of time to planning and professional development in order to offer the very best instructional strategies to the classroom. We are often asked what families can do at home to help, and our suggestions revolve around the following:
As always, we appreciate your continued support. Your dedication to our school is what makes us a great learning community. With so much happening at Cale, please be sure to stay up-to-date on the future activities and events by following us on Twitter at @CaleElementary and on the Cale PTO Facebook page. |
